BBC - British Broadcasting Corporation
The BBC is the British public service broadcaster. With its extensive analogue and digital programming on air national, regional and worldwide and with its about 27,000 employees, the BBC is also the world's largest public service broadcasting corporation.
SCISYS has been collaborating with the BBC seamlessly since 2001.
SCISYS is the sole system provider for Audio-Editing and Productionsystems for all BBC radio channels. SCISYS has a framework contract as sole supplier to provide a technology refresh for all major audio editing and playout systems on a pan-organisational basis and to move to one single scalable, joined-up, pan-BBC solution that integrates with other systems to create a true multimedia production environment.
BR - Bayrischer Rundfunk
SCISYS has been working with the Bavarian Broadcasting (BR) since 2018 as part of the weConnect Gateway project. weConnect gateways create the transition between the broadcaster infrastructures and systems and the ARD-weConnect network.
Deutschlandradio, the producer of three national radio stations in Germany, namely Deutschlandfunk Kultur (arts channel, Deutschlandfunk (news and current affairs) and Deutschlandfunk Nova (features & science) operates from two broadcasting centres in Berlin and Cologne.
SCISYS has been collaborating with Deutschlandradio continuously since 1996. In each of the broadcasting houses, the entire infrastructure solution is based on the dira! system built by SCISYS, as is the capital studio installed by SCISYS for Deutschlandradio in the political heart of Berlin.
DW - Deutsche Welle
Deutsche Welle is Germany’s international broadcaster. It broadcasts a journalistic portfolio from a European perspective to audiences around the world and promotes intercultural dialogue as well as the German language.
The radio service and the corresponding Internet portal provides information in 30 languages. Deutsche Welle reaches more than 100 million listeners and viewers worldwide.
SCISYS has provided a dira! system tailored exactly to the requirements of Deutsche Welle to produce and broadcast its programmes in 30 languages for all the world's regions in a daily production volume of more than 100 hours.
ERTU- Egyptian Radio and Television Union
The Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) is the public broadcaster of Egypt, operated by the Egyptian government. SCISYS has provided a complete dira!-solution, replacing the existing first generation radio production and playout system, including implementation of a complete digital audio production, playout automation and archive solution.
Hochschule für Musik Detmold
HfM - Hochschule für Musik Detmold
Hochschule für Musik (College of Music) Detmold possesses a valuable collection of recordings of concerts which covers not only the artistic facets but also represents a substantial part of the history of recording techniques. Owing to the archive solution media:fabric Discovery by SCISYS, those recordings can now be made available to people interested in music and/or science. This digital central archive offers simple and fast search results which you can listen to easily and directly and even download the original recording, provided the necessary rights are available.
The core of the system consists of a database used for of metadata management and a system for audio data storage which are both interlinked. Browser-based clients can connect to this core system to cover the workflows requested: acquisition, research and maintenance tasks.
Professors Dr Aristotelis Hadjakos and Dr Steffen Bock of Zentrum für Musik- und Filminformatik (Centre of computer science for music and film) of Hochschule für Musik Detmold stated unanimously: “The idea to implement a digital archive for precious audio recordings existing at Hochschule für Musik establishes a close connection between research and social benefit.”
MDR - Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk
MDR is a German regional broadcaster and ARD member domiciled in Leipzig, serving the states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Its core radio channels, Jump, MDR Info, MDR Sputnik and MDR Figaro, as well as the digital channel, MDR Klassik, are broadcast from the radio operations centre in Halle. The autonomous radio stations for each state, MDR 1 Radio Sachsen, MDR 1 Radio Sachsen-Anhalt and MDR 1 Radio Thüringen, operate from regional broadcasting houses in their capital cities, namely Dresden, Erfurt and Magdeburg.
SCISYS has been collaborating with MDR continuously since 1996 and has equipped each of the eight radio channels and the four regional studios with the dira! production and playout system. The systems installed at the MDR have been continuously renewed and extended.
NDR - Norddeutscher Rundfunk
The NDR is the public service broadcaster for the north German states of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. Regional radio and television centres are situated in the individual states' capital cities, namely Hanover, Kiel, Schwerin and Hamburg. NDR also maintains numerous regional studios and offices. NDR belongs to the ARD network.
SCISYS is working together with NDR since 1993 and provided all radio automations systems for all eight radio channels of NDR and also an audio archive system.
RBB - Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg
SCISYS has been working with the Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting (RBB) since 2018 as part of the weConnect Gateway project. weConnect gateways create the transition between the broadcaster infrastructures and systems and the ARD-weConnect network.
RÚV - Ríkisútvarpið
RÚV is the public service broadcaster in Iceland. Its headquarters are situated in the capital, Reykjavik, where programmes are produced and transmitted for one television and two radio channels. In addition, RÚV broadcasts regional programmes from four other locations.
SCISYS has delivered a dira!-System for radio production and playout and a dira!-based archive system for radio and multimedia content.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation is the state broadcaster in South Africa, and provides 19 radio stations (AM/FM) as well as 4 television broadcasts to the general public. The main object of the Corporation is to supply broadcasting and information services and services that are ancillary thereto, to the general public in the Republic of South Africa and beyond its borders.

Sharjah Media Corporation
Sharjah Media Corporation is a government entity concerned with the development of the media sector in Sharjah. SCISYS delivered and implemented a dira! System for Sharjah Radio.

SWR - Südwestrundfunk
Southwest Broadcasting (SWR) is a public broadcaster in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. It is the second largest broadcaster in Germany.

TNVN - Voice of Vietnam
Voice of Vietnam in Hanoi is the state broadcaster in Vietnam.
SCISYS has been commissioned to install an audio archive through the offices of its Vietnamese partner, EMI Co.. The archive solution for Voice of Vietnam is based on the asset management solution of SCISYS. The long-term archive for storing audio material is integrating with the production and playout systems of the six radio stations of Voice of Vietnam, and linking to the system supplied by NOA Audio Solutions to digitise existing analog audio material.
VRT - Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep
VRT is the public service broadcaster for Belgium's Flemish population. Its headquarters are in Brussels and its three television and six radio channels are run by a staff of more than 2,800 people.
After installing a pilot system for the VRT radio and TV network, SCISYS was commissioned in 2006 to supply a dira! production and playout system for VRT-News and Radio één.
The dira! radio automation system is integrated with a iNews NRCS and an Ardome archive solution.
WDR - Westdeutscher Rundfunk
WDR is the public service broadcaster for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its headquarters are in Cologne. It is also the largest broadcaster within ARD, the association of public service broadcasting organisations in Germany, and ranks among the largest in Europe. WDR supplies numerous programmes to the first channel of the German television network. WDR television is the third channel in this network for North Rhine-Westphalia. Its programme offering also embraces six analogue and three digital radio channels. Alongside production studios in Cologne, WDR maintains nine regional studios, which produce local radio and television programmes, as well as several regional offices. SCISYS is the provider of the central asset management system for all cologne-based radio channels and dira! is also the production- and playout system for the WDR2 regional outlets. SCISYS has also delivered a large digital audio archive - DILA - to WDR in Cologne.
