The Better Regulation Delivery Office has selected SCISYS to deliver a completely new version of the system that is used to implement Primary Authority, a flagship scheme that cuts red tape for business through partnerships with local authorities.
SCISYS produced the current solution and will work with the BRDO to produce a system in reaction to changes in the legislation and new types of business covered that could expand the number of registrations tenfold.
A spokesman for BRDO said: “Primary Authority has been very successful, with sign-ups from across the business spectrum, including major retailers. The new system will have to accommodate a major expansion of the scheme, potentially of many thousands more businesses in trade bodies and franchises, so it must be reliable and robust. We are confident SCISYS will deliver.”
The contract is for a hosted managed service solution that will use open source components and the BancTec eFIRST process case management system. SCISYS will use an agile approach to delivery with some elements being delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS). The solution also contains open source mapping components utilising Ordnance Survey background data.
Heather Dinham, SCISYS Divisional Director, commented: “We look forward to continuing our relationship with the BRDO, exploiting our knowledge of the legislation, regulatory solutions, open source and geographic information systems.”
