Mike Love - Non-Executive Chairman
Born in 1948, Mike was Chief Executive of SCISYS (formerly CODASciSys) from 1986 (when he led the management buy-in of the business) until 2003, when he became Non-Executive Chairman. He stepped back in as Executive Chairman in late 2007 and returned to role of Non-Executive Chairman in 2011. He studied physics at university and obtained his PhD in theoretical nuclear physics. He entered the software industry in 1976 with Logica, moved to the European Space Agency in the late seventies and joined SCISYS in 1981. He also serves as Non-Executive Chairman at Dillistone Group plc; is Chairman at Redcliffe Precision Ltd and Chairman of The Nepal Trust.
Chris Cheetham - Financial Director
Chris was born in 1959. An engineering graduate of Cambridge University, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 1990 and worked in the Corporate Finance department until 1996. He has extensive experience gained from working as Financial Director and Company Secretary within the software industry for the last 8 years. He was appointed Financial Director on 1st January 2007.
David Jones - Chief Executive Officer
Born in 1952, David joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in June 2002. He became an Executive Director in late 2007 when he took on the role of Operations Director for the Government Division and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 2010. His earlier career includes some 20 years at Admiral plc, where he held a number of director-level appointments, including Group Operations Director and Managing Director of Admiral Computing Limited. He has also been Chief Operations Officer for Allied Worldwide Limited and was a founding member of the DRA Software Engineering Centre Advisory Board. He is also Chairman of Ashlar Property Management Limited, a property development and rental company.
Steve Brignall - Technical Director
Steve was born in 1955 . He joined the Science Systems group in 1986 as a senior analyst/programmer. He was appointed Technical Director of Science Systems (Industrial) in 1999 and Technical Director of the SCISYS Division in 2004. He was appointed Executive Director in 2006. Before joining SCISYS, he spent 5 years at Rolls-Royce (Aero) and Westinghouse Systems. He studied mathematics at Manchester University.
Klaus Heidrich - Chief Operating Officer
Born in 1960, Klaus studied electrical engineering with a focus on communications engineering at the University of Dortmund and gained a masters degree in electronics engineering. In 1989 he joined VCS AG (now SCISYS DE GmbH) as a sales engineer after working as a sound engineer and musician for 3 years. From 1992 he was responsible for marketing & sales of VCS and developed VCS media activities until he briefly left VCS for Management Data AG in Hamburg in 2000 where he was Managing Director. A year later he came back to VCS and took responsibility for strategic business development within corporate management. Since 2005 he has been a director of the Media Broadcasting Solutions business unit and joined the Executive Board in 2009. On 1st January 2012 he became an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Prof. Dr. Klaus-G. Meng - Executive Director
Klaus-G. Meng was born in 1959 and was the founder and chief executive of VCS AG, which was acquired by SCISYS plc in 2007. He studied electrical engineering at Bochum University in Germany and graduated with a dissertation as doctor in the field of the optic communication engineering in 1987. As a student he began to market his ideas in the field of meteorological satellite remote sensing. This led to the creation of VCS. Since 1993 Klaus-G. Meng has been lecturing on satellite communication at the University of Dortmund. In 2003 he received an honorary professorship of the faculty for electrical engineering and information technology at the University of Dortmund.
David Coghlan - Non Executive Director
David Coghlan has a twenty year track record in the technology sector with experience of working on both UK and US boards. He has been a director of the AIM- quoted Synectics plc since 1993 and Chairman since 2005. He co-founded Quadrant Group Limited in 2002 and remains its Chairman, and is a founding investor and non-executive director of TrafficLand, Inc. He was previously a partner at strategy consultants Bain & Company. He has degrees in Law and in Finance from the University of New South Wales, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. David’s appointment was effective from 2 January 2013. He chairs the audit committee and sits on the remuneration committee.
