Climate Change

SciSys’ capability extends across a broad range of climate change activities within the Environment and Space domains. We have delivered business-focused bespoke systems that support the management and implementation of key climate change policy initiatives. We have also worked on technology-focused projects to develop remote and in-situ environmental data acquisition and processing tools.

Examples of our work include:

• Onboard software for key climate change remote-sensing missions such as CryoSat-2, which monitors the thickness of polar ice, and Envisat, which monitors land, atmosphere, oceans and ice caps
• EU ETS vision statement and work on a pan-European trading language known as XeTL
• Development and ongoing hosting of the system that supports the delivery of the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme
• Consultancy services such as a study on Carbon Capture and Storage for the European Space Agency
• Using Dynamic Service Modelling to help organisations assess the viability of data services to meet regulatory and commercial climate change objectives

This breadth of knowledge means that we understand the issues which our customers face, are able to speak the language of climate change and deliver solutions that benefit our customers.
