What We Do: Overview

It is difficult to summarise "what SciSys does" as it covers a wide range of topics, domains, technologies and skills.  This summary page gives a flavour, in alphabetical order of some of "what we do"...

Application Support

SciSys has many years' experience in providing Support Services to both public and private sector organisations. The scope and availability of these services is tailored to the customers' individual requirements and service level expectations. We aim to establish long term relationships with our customers so that we build up a better understanding of the customer's business, helping us deliver a more focused and effective service.

Climate Change

SciSys’ capability extends across a broad range of climate change activities within our Environment and Space divisions. We have delivered business-focused bespoke systems that support the management and implementation of key climate change policy initiatives. We have also worked on technology-focused projects to develop remote and in-situ environmental data acquisition and processing tools.

Consultancy

SciSys offers a range of consultancy services. Its Business Consultancy Service helps customers to transform their business processes, either to improve efficiency and service levels or in response to external factors such as regulatory demands. SciSys can also help deliver projects that are led by the customer, providing assistance with expertise in niche areas, supplying skilled and experienced consultants in areas such as Business Analysis, Solutions Architecture, Technical Architecture, Test Management and Project Management.

Engineering

For over 25 years SciSys has built up a reputation for providing first class engineering services for the Space and Defence sectors. Our engineers have an excellent domain knowledge, including Spacecraft Onboard systems, Ground Segments and Operations, and a variety of specialist Defence domains such as Nuclear, Biological and Chemical modelling. SciSys' engineers have practical design, development and operational experience - as well as the underlying software tools.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

SciSys has delivered mapping as part of a system across all divisions.  Our approach is that the map should be part of the business solution rather than a stand alone GIS system: the user is seamlessly presented with the mapping fuctionality needed for the task.  We have used a wide range of commercial, open source and web service based GIS functionality to suit all needs and budgets.

SEAF™: Electronics Architectures

SciSys is a recognised leader in the provision of open vehicle and vessel network and software systems that reduce through life costs and improve mission efficiency.  Using commercially available hardware and mission specific communications and mapping systems SciSys is working in both the defence and civilian domains to deliver integrated systems that support a wide range of missions, platforms, sensors and effectors.

Software Development

SciSys has undertaken bespoke development of turnkey systems, addressing all elements of the systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering to solution delivery and support. In-house development follows rigorous quality and project management standards, and our enthusiastic and talented staff bring a wealth of experience in the technical and business domains in which SciSys operates.

Systems Integration

SciSys has a broad range of knowledge and expertise, which means that it is able to bring together best-of-breed products into award-winning solutions.
