Monitoring, Control and Configuration

Das Software Framework egmc² stellt zentrale Manangementfunktionen für komplexe Infrastrukturen zur Verfügung. Diese umfassen die Überwachung, Steuerung und Konfiguration von Netzwerken sowie zentrale Archivierungs- und Datenverarbeitungstechnologien, kombiniert mit grafischen Benutzeroberflächen. Im Satellitenbodensegment schließt egmc² die Lücke zwischen dem Data Segment und entsprechenden Funktionen zur Steuerung von Satelliten wie sie beispielsweise durch SCOS-2000 oder CGS zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Flexibilität

Das egmc² Framework basiert auf modernster Softwaretechnologie. Es ist außerordentlich flexibel und lässt sich hervorragend an nutzerorientierte Anforderungen anpassen. Die Architektur von egmc² basiert auf generischen Komponenten, die einen unkomplizierten Einsatz in neuen Anwendingsszenarios ermöglicht.

Skalierbarkeit

Das egmc² verwendet ein äußerst efizientes, TCP basiertes Netzwerkprotokoll für die Interprozesskommunikation. Dieses Protokoll ermöglicht es, mit egmc² in sehr großen Netzwerken verteilte Anwendungen einzusetzen. Durch die hierachische Datenstruktur von egmc² ist es auch möglich, Daten in verteilten Prozessen zu sammeln und zu verarbeiten.

Ausbaufähigkeit

The open interface concept allows customers to easily integrate additional in-house products and services as well as third-party products. The egmc² applications and services can be extended by coding components compliant with the component specifications. Most integration and extension do not require code development or access to the source code of the framework, respectively.

Kosteneffizienz

Since components are re-used in numerous projects, a great amount of testing has been completed in previous projects. Likewise, many capabilities which normally go to the „nice to have“ list instead of the requirements baseline will come as off-the shelf components of the framework. This allows facility designers and integrators to request useful but often neglected features at an early stage, rather than ordering them in subsequent packages. To do so enables the procurement team to better evaluate the true cost of a solution and make valid comparisons between offers.
