Planning Inspectorate
SciSys has carried out a number of engagements for the Planning Inspectorate (PINS), in particular around the legislative changes introduced by the Planning Act 2008. Our involvement has primarily been around IT strategy development and the associated change in business processes resulting from the legislation. Additional assignments have included the provision of project management and technical assurance services, system design, software development and a review of the Disaster Recovery processes in place.
Local Better Regulation Office Primary Authority System
SciSys developed a workflow-driven case management system to enable the Local Better Regulation Office (LBRO) to manage the Primary Authority scheme. The LBRO’s primary objective is to ensure the effective performance of local authority regulatory services, in accordance with the principles of better regulation, in order to reduce the burden on businesses which comply with the law while targeting those who flout it. The Primary Authority scheme aims to ensure that businesses operating across various council boundaries receive greater consistency in advice, support and inspection from Local Authorities.
EDF Energy Improves DUoS Billing Efficiency
EPN, LPN and SEEBOARD Networks came together in 2002 under the aegis of EDF Energy Networks. EDF Energy is the largest electricity distribution network owner in the UK, covering the whole of London, the East and South East of England, and serving over a quarter of the UK's population.
Customer Information System (CIS)
SciSys developed software for a Customer Information System (CIS) for London Underground Limited.
Essex and Suffolk Water SCADA System Support
Essex and Suffolk Water supplies water to 1.7 million customers across an area of 3,000 sq. km in two separate areas in Essex and Suffolk.
Arqiva Digital Switch Over
SciSys is contracted by Arqiva (formerly NTL) to design, build, and rollout an operational support system for the UK Digital Terrestrial broadcast of television. It provides the replacement for the analogue transmission system built around 18 years ago by SciSys.
Invensys Rail
SciSys has carried out a variety of work for Invensys Rail (formerly Westinghouse Rail Systems) over many years. Our latest engagements have involved Invensys Rail’s contract to provide a major upgrade to the Victoria Line’s signalling and control centre system.

London Bus Service - Application Support Service
SciSys have been contracted by London Bus Services Ltd (LBSL) to provide application support for two of their business critical applications. These Oracle based applications are used to support the pre-qualification, tendering, contract management and payment processes in respect of all bus services as well as providing a global view of historic, current and proposed Bus and Tram Routes and their geographic routings.
