RNLI FAST CARRIAGE BOAT 2
SciSys has been contracted by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to develop and build the electronic systems for the RNLI's new fleet of Lifeboats. Called FCB2 (Fast Carriage Boat 2), these boats are launched and recovered from the beach, and will operate up to 100 miles off shore at 25 Knots in a force 7 storm. The SciSys system will allow the crew of 5 to monitor and control all the boats' functions from their seated crew stations.
Indie - SciSys' Robotic Research Platform
INDIE is SciSys’ robotic research platform that plays a key role in our cross-technology research programmes. It gives us “INDIE-pendence” by releasing our software prototypes from mission hardware constraints, providing opportunities to deploy software in test. environments of our choosing, demonstrating the benefits of autonomy directly to our customers and providing our own tool for partnership research collaborations. Indie provides a working robotics platform for prototyping software applications, as well as providing a showcase for our customers and sponsors.
Planetary Robotics Vision Ground Processing
PRoVisG will develop a unified framework for processing robotically captured imagery, through the use of state-of-art computer vision technology gathered from a European consortium. This will lead to a significant enhancement of the science, technology and educational outreach opportunities for future robotic space missions to the Moon and the Planets.
APEX - Automated Procedure EXecution
Automated Procedure EXecution (APEX) is a generic portable procedure definition and execution tool that enables automation of spacecraft testing and spacecraft operations.
Planetary Aerobot
Planetary Aerobots will transform the way we explore planets. Combining the close-surface proximity of a rover with the large-area visibility of an orbiter, a planetary aerobot would drift on the currents of an alien atmosphere - it would have the capability of producing extremely high resolution images but would not be limited to an area of a few tens of metres.
Aurora
The European Space Agency's (ESA) Aurora programme is an ambitious initiative to put robots (and eventually humans) onto the surface of Mars within the next thirty years.
CREST Robotic Scientist
The aim of the Robotic Scientist project is to allow a robotic vehicle such as a Mars Rover to act as a surrogate for the science team back on Earth, by allowing it to detect scientific targets of interest and exploring these in greater detail without the need for detailed supervision from mission control.
CryoSat On-board Software
SciSys has developed the onboard application software for CryoSat, part of the European Space Agency's (ESA) pioneering Living Planet Programme.
Galileo IOV
Galileo will comprise 30 satellites and will be Europe's own global navigation satellite system, providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control.
GELO (GEneric Launch Window Optimisation)
SciSys' GELO product offers satellite operators a sophisticated application that automates the task of selecting optimal parameters for launching any mission using any launch vehicle into any Geosynchronous Orbit (GEO).
