Richard

Richard Hensman Richard joined SciSys in 1994 as an analyst programmer, developing and testing code, and is now a Consultant with the company.

"Working at SciSys is challenging - it pushes you to your limits and challenges you to develop both your technical and inter-personal skills. It requires you to be innovative and flexible in your approach, and to apply your technical knowledge in new ways on different projects and to be open to learn new skills.

Since starting at SciSys, I have worked in many different roles on projects including systems design, quality assurance, database design, data warehousing, data analysis and team leading. Currently I am working on a project involving lead-edge technologies MDA, Model Driven Development and meta-modelling. Other companies have shown great interest in this work and as a result of this I spoke at a conference earlier this year in the USA on MDA and meta-modelling.

As my personal career objectives have changed and evolved, SciSys has responded by giving me different roles and responsibilities on projects that have met these objectives, stretched me beyond them, and advanced my career.

The work at times can be pressurised, especially when deadlines are looming, but it is very rewarding to see a working system delivered to a client that meets their needs, and to then be recognised both internally and externally for a job well done."
