GIS Capabilities

A high proportion of all data has a spatial link - whether it be a postcode, area reference or a grid reference. In order to understand the variation in the data they have to presented or analysed spatially, usually on a map backdrop.

SciSys has been using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to achieve this for many customers in a wide range of applications, including:

SciSys has a very customer oriented approach to GIS; it is a tool amongst many software tools. It is important to select the right tool for the job and SciSys has a vendor independent approach to the supply of GIS components and systems.

We have worked with mainstream tools such as ESRI and MapInfo, as well as licence free components (e.g. Tatuk or Mapobjects lite) and emerging open source products that include Open GIS Consortium (OGC) compliant components.

Coupled with our extensive experience in spatially enabled solutions, SciSys is in a strong position to provide mapping and spatial solutions that allow customers to derive the right information with the minimum of interaction.
