Specialist Engineering Services

For 25 years SciSys has built up a reputation for providing first class engineering services for the Space and Defence sectors. Our engineers have an excellent domain knowledge, including Spacecraft Onboard systems, Ground Segments and Operations, and a variety of specialist Defence domains such as Nuclear, Biological and Chemical modelling. SciSys' engineers have practical design, development and operational experience - as well as the underlying software tools.

This insight positions SciSys as an ideal partner in the Space and Defence industry. Our engineers can identify critical operational design issues and work with project customers and prime contractors to provide reliable solutions.

SciSys has expertise in all aspects of spacecraft operations engineering which incorporates a wide variety of activities during design, development and preparation phases of any spacecraft programme. SciSys GmbH is based in Darmstadt a short distance from ESA's European Space Operations Centre (ESOC). From here, SciSys Flight Dynamics engineers provide specialist services in areas such as Orbit Determination and Attitude Control. As members of the Flight Control Team, SciSys engineers play a critical role in the Launch and Early Orbit Phase of missions, as Spacecraft Operations Engineers they are responsible for monitoring and controlling the platform and payload throughout the life of the spacecraft, and as simulations managers they are responsible for defining and executing the intensive simulation-based training of the Flight Control Team. Throughout the mission, SciSys engineers are alert for non-nominal situations, and initiate whatever diagnostic and recovery actions are required.

SciSys engineers support numerous international Space industry clients such as ESA, EUMETSAT and Eutelsat.

SciSys also has a long and distinguished profile of specialist engineering services for Defence customers. SciSys engineers have in-depth knowledge and understanding across a range of specialist fields. For example SciSys has engineers working on dispersion plume modelling for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), training simulators for the Defence Communications Services Agency (DCSA), and battlespace digitisation systems for the British Army.
